Breast cancer diagnosis

Hello, I am 36years old and recently diagnosed with grade 3 breast cancer. I had a very small lump on my right breast which my doctors were not worried about, suggested I leave it and see what happens but I insisted on having it out for peace of mind (they couldn’t biopsy due to position next to breast implant). I was shocked to hear it was cancer and grade 3. What they have found is stage 1 but waiting on results from MRI, CT scans and also estrogen, progesterone and HER2 receptors. Worried it will come back triple negative considering my age and it being grade 3, have read a lot online about that being the most aggressive form which is scary. Xx

  • Hello. I was also diagnosed around your age (35) with stage 2, grade 3 (if I recall correctly - this was 18 years ago!). Mine was triple negative (rare in my demographic) but with neoadjuvant treatment (chemo first, wide local, then radiotherapy) all went well. If it is triple negative do not worry too much, and do not consult Dr Google. I was informed that after 2 years disease free your chance of recurrence goes back to baseline. And still here after all this time! Do take care of yourself and ask all the questions you need to - all questions are valid. I wish you all the very best xx

  • Thank you so much for your response, it’s made me feel much more reassured. This is such a huge thing to navigate, I was just about to start trying for a baby so I’m praying all those hopes and dreams are not lost. I’m really glad to hear you’re doing so well after your diagnosis, it gives me hope xx
