Diagnosed ER+ PR+ HER2-

Hi All,

I recently noticed a change it the way my left breast looked, nipple inverting only slightly but noticeable to me. I for a few weeks took photos and kept checking thinking it was due to my hormones and the coil being fitted in March 2024 due to heavy bleeding and clot issues.

18th September my GP examined and couldn’t feel any lumps but I was referred to have mammogram.

2nd October Mammogram completed along with scan which found a lump 1.5cm behind the nipple and swelling in my lymph in armpit. Whilst there 2 biopsy taken for further investigation

Further appointment was confirmed for 5th November for results but I was so anxious and suffer with high bloood pressure I called and appointment brought forward to 22nd October

Feeling nervous and worried but thinking all will be ok I was told I had Breast Cancer grade 2 ER+ PR+ HER2 and surgery planned for 20th December to remove nipple and aerola with biopsy of the synoid in armpit and removal of lymph

started Tamoxifen meds and coil removed

Now a waiting game for surgery and the treatment plan after

Feeling Lots of things and just reaching out to people that have experienced the same diagnosis

  • Hi jolamine, and saralou123,  second surgery done.  I had a infection in boob so surgeon has cleaned it all and on antibiotics.  Not as painful this time ss no lumph nodes were taken.  I did have cancer in 1 node. Another waiting game now.  How are you both ? X

  • Hi saralou123. how are you feeling?.  Xx

  • Hi Jovie,

I'm glad to hear that your surgery went well and hope that the antibiotics sort your infection soon. Have they told you when your results will be back yet? It's good to hear that you are not as sore this time - it usually feels worse when lymph nodes have been removed. If cancer has only been found in one node, it sounds as if you have caught it early, which is reassuring.

Now that you're back to waiting again, try to keep yourself occupied, as this will help the time to pass - that shouldn't be difficult at this time of year!

    Wising you a speedy recovery.

    Regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Saralou,

I have found this site to be an invaluable source of information, support and advice throughout the years and I'm sure that you will find this too. It's also reassuring to hear from others, who have experienced what we are going through and really know how we feel. It is a great community and we are always here for one another.

    Regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hey Jolamine,

so nice to hear from you and that second surgery has not been as painful xx it’s difficult I hear with keeping infection at bay but it’s good they got you on antibiotics to clear this up. Hopefully your waiting isn’t to long I think this is half the battle. I hope you are resting and taking it easy to recover.

im ok when j turned the calendar to December it feels more real as i can see the dates. I am anxious but still working each day and trying to put it too the back of my mind.

i still worry about after op and how much they take or what will be the results and treatment but i am sleeping as u write down all my worries every day to help ease my mind before bed

sending you my wishes thinking of you

  • Hi,

just checking in to see how all is going and hope you are ok xx

i am getting anxious now as pre op this Friday ..it’s says 2 hours so not sure what’s involved at this appointment?

feeling nervous for op date next Friday but relieved it’s nearly here in a strange way

My minds been going crazy with worry of spread and will they tell me when I come out of surgery ♀️

hope you are ok thinking of you

    xx

  • Hi saralou123,

Pre op is weigh, height, bloods, all information on you , like previous ops, medication etc.  I was given a sponge to wash with on morning of op before going to hospital.

Just a information letter saying what time you can eat and drink till.

It may not be 2 hours, I think they just say allow that much time.

They won't give any details of surgery as you will get results in around 2 weeks .  The surgeon will come and see you just to let you know how surgery went.

I know it's really easy for me to say, but keep going with your deep breathing now to keep yourself relaxed.

Set your little area ready for when you are home.  If you have a fan, maybe put at side of bed as you may feel hot .  Keep items within reach. Make sure you have tissues, lipbalm etc.

You will be looked after.  You are in our thoughts and prayers

    JUST REMEMBER!

They are getting this little *** out.

    Lots of love Jovie xx

  • Hey Jovie,

good to hear from you and thank you for the info it has helped reassured me xx

started breathing and been doing the arm exercises. I take meds for high BP so I can only do my best at keeping relaxed and calm

pre op Thai Friday at 9 so early then back home to work keep me busy xx

I think next week will be the hard week up to op date so will keep doing relaxation techniques

    lots of love

    Sarah
