  • Hi Helenhedd,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

I am so sorry to hear about your daughter. What stage is she at - does she still have to have further tests, before her care team can decide whether or not treatment is required? This stage of waiting for results is always a worrying time, as there are so many unknowns. Irrespective of the outcome, you will both feel better once you have a definite diagnosis. In the meantime, try to avoid consulting "Dr Google", as much of the information there is inaccurate, poorly researched, out of date and aimed at the more spectacular cases. This can only serve to scare you further.

I lost my mum to secondary breast cancer before I was diagnosed. I have since had 2 bouts of breast cancer, within a year of each other. There was just no comparison between the diagnosis, treatment and aftercare which we both received. Treatments are continually evolving. It has now been 14 years since I was diagnosed and I still lead a busy and fulfilling life.

Please keep in touch and let us know what is happening. We are always here for both of you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
