Brain tumour diagnosis

I had a melonona mole nearly 6.yesr sgo, I went to the treatment centre at my local hospital where is was diagnosed to be a melonona and I had two operations on my lower.calf on right leg, I was off work to get better it involved many of appointments with the nurse at my local GP practice. I was MOT working for 3 months and because the job I do I would be supervising children in the playground, I was at risk of being hitby balls or hockey sticks.

My cancer has returned in march this year, it was such a shock to me and my family. The cancer came back on my upper thigh groin area, I am undergoing imminotheropy which I had 2 doses of, it brought me out in a terrible itchy rash and blisters, I became very tired and we went away in the school holidays to the west coast, on the holiday I became very weeks d had a couple of nasty falls, I couldn't eat much all of the 5 days we were there, I was very sick at the time, my husband would take our son to do some crabbing in the key, which he really enjoyed and it have me some time to rest at the n&n. Iwas really poorly on our return from the holiday, I kneeled down to unpack the suitcases and I was unable to lift to standing position, I had become so week and hardly any food intake, IA neighbour came to help and I managed to get onto my tummy and pull myself.onto.the ned, my mobility had become really bad. My husband drove me to our local hospital, I went straight.tjough to A&E where I was taken through priority because of how poorly I was. I was in hospital for 10 days many, many scans had been taken my liverwas effected by the imminotheropy, I developed hepatitis of the liver. I have only had part.of my treatment due to this. I had to walk with a walking frame, I only went from the bed to the toilet for a few days. I improved after about 6 days. My quality of sleep wasn't too good in the hospitals, I had to catch up with my sleep and was hoping I could return home to my family.on the 9th day I had picked up a fair bit, the nursing staff wrre brilliant there.

I am going to see my consultant today and I'm hoping to start up my cancer treatment and I have had 1 radiotherapy session to date, I will find out the results in 4 /6 weeks. Thank you for reading saz52

  • Hello Saz24

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It sounds like it's been a tough time for you after you developed some liver issues during your treatment. It's good to hear the hospital staff were so supportive and that you were able to return home within a few days.

How did you get on at your appointment with the consultant earlier this week? Were they able to answer some of your questions about your diagnosis and treatment plan? I hope they were able to give you some reassurance about things.

If you would like to talk with one of our nurses for some support and advice you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Do let us know how you get on Saz24.

    Sending my best wishes,
