Hi there, no advice really but the scan sounds very positive.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in August and, like you, I’m staying positive about everything I’m told.

I’m sure your care team will reach out if there is anything they need to discuss with you, but I honestly think that being positive like that is the best way to be if you can.

It's good that the scan was clear but you won't be able to fully relax until the results of your SLNB come back, so that's probably why your thoughts are conflicted. What Stage are you 2a, b or c? If b or c you will also be offered a course of adjuvant drug therapy which is to try & stop a recurrence or spread & it will give you more peace of mind (if you decide to accept the treatment). Otherwise you will be monitored for a time so that, if you have concerns or they find a problem at a check up, it will be dealt with quickly.

Try not to dwell on your results - it's looking good so far so hopefully they will be clear. Good luck & please let us know how you get on,

Nothing prepares us for a shock like this, it’s like a bolt of lightning coming from nowhere. The shock soon settles and passes. I was diagnosed with secondary aggressive melanoma on 15/4/24.  Unknown primary and still unknown .  I’ve  had a groin dissection along with 9 lymph nodes removed. That was back in June. Everything healed up very well and I managed to have a 5 week holiday in Spain before returning for immunotherapy treatment . Thank God, there was no cancer in the tissues or any other nodes. Treatment was started some weeks ago and life continues as before. I don’t feel any different at all. No fatigue, no pains or aches, no diarrhoea but I do have a mild itch on my chest.  I take an antihistamine daily and this helps to reduce the itch. My life is no different to day. I’m still “me”.

I’ve altered my diet. I steep 12 almonds every night and drink the water in the morning and eat the almonds. I eat a high fibre diet and add seed to it. I enjoy eating blueberries, bananas, pineapple and as many fruits as possible. I stopped taking my anti reflux medication ( omeprazole) but replaced it with Peptac liquid aniseed prescribed by my GP.

Your oncologist will fight your disease with the best treatment available BUT you too must fight the disease by eating organic meats, eggs and milk along with seeds, nuts, avocados, smoked salmon and more .

It's good to be cautious after the all clear anyway. Not to stress but to regularly check for recurrence just to be careful. Keep a finger on your lymph nodes. I'm sure they've given you instructions on examining them.

I don't want to frighten you but it is good to be cautious because it's like any cancer. The sooner it's treated the better the results. It's a matter of being observant and trying not to be fearful. I'm sorry you've had this happen to you at all. Keep us posted and good luck x
