Feel alone

Just finished my radiotherapy and chemo home with terrible radiation burns and feeling extremely weak and alone

  • Hello Fullofhope

I'm sorry to hear that you've been struggling so much following your recent treatment. It's understandable that you've been struggling.

Have you spoken with your cancer specialist nurse or another health professional about your radiation burn? Sometimes skin reactions can continue for a few weeks after treatment stops so please do talk with someone for some advice about your skin care. If you want to talk with someone over the weekend then do call NHS 111 and they can arrange for you to see a Dr if needs be.

Do you have family or friends around you for support? I hope that there are folks who are available to help you during this difficult time. Don't be afraid to tell them how you're feeling and reach out for some support.

Our nurse team are back in the office on Monday morning and can be contacted on 0808 800 4040 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm) for any advice and support they can offer.

Cancer can feel like a very lonely journey at times Fullofhope and I know many of our members will understand how that can feel. Hopefully you will be able to connect with others who can share their advice and support with you soon. In the meantime, do keep in touch and let us know how you're coping. We're here to listen and offer any advice and support we can.

    Sending you my best wishes,
    Jenn
