Starting my journey

Hi I’ve joined becouse night time is hard with anxiety,I’ve been diagnosed with T3 stage 2 bowel cancer and start radiotherapy and chemotherapy next Monday.

  • Hi Soniaren welcome to the club none of us want to join. Everything you are feeling is totally normal and I understand about the night time. My cancer is different to yours but I'm having chemo and radiotherapy currently in week 3. Good luck for Monday. X

  • I tend to get anxious where you can’t take that deep breath in it’s been a good day today I have an ulcerated tuma on the inside of my anus it’s getting painful.I am getting myself prepared for next Monday for radiotherapy and chemotherapy in tablet form I’m just not sure how I am going to feel it’s the unknown

  • Is it bowel or anal cancer you have ? X

  • It’s as you go inside it’s on the left it hasn’t gone through the lining I think that’s where it is.it’s not in the colon and thankfully hasn’t spread they are doing five weeks of treatment five days a week.they also said the will do radiation on the lymph so not to spread I get so confused with it.They was saying about a colostomy bag but I realy don’t want that if I can get away with it but it is getting difficult now.

  • OK, I'm not a medical expert but from what you are saying and the treatment they are going to give you it sounds like anal cancer. That is what I'm being treated for. I'm having 5.5 weeks radiotherapy 5 days a week and chemotherapy via a pump for 5 days at the beginning and 5 days at the end. I won't lie the chemo did make me feel sick but it was bearable (I should say I have low dpd levels so I don't tolerate chemo well )So far the radiotherapy hasn't been as bad as I expected my skin is a bit sore but they give you cream for that and I've been putting loads of E45 on also. You can do this. Xx
