Prostate Cancer and Hormone Therapy

I have recently been diagnosed with Prostrate Cancer, Gleason score of 3+4 =7.  I am still considering options between radiation and surgery although inclined toward radiotherapy.  In consultation with oncologist, I am eligible for a high beam radiotherapy (SABR) over a shorter period. She was relaxed whether a did this in conjunction with hormone therapy or not.  I'd much prefer not to take hormone treatment.  Any other experience of taking this route?

  • Hi, my husband has just started his radiation. Gleeson 3+4=7. He's had two of the hormone injection, now the radiation. The only, side, effect is fatigue which isn't every day, and hot flushes. Apart from that hes, doing ok. His psa level before starting treatment was,13 , had a blood test and the results were 0.00 so treatment is working. He has till November for his daily apts at the hospital , then his treatment will be hopefully over. Wishing you all the very best .
