Stella&Ag - husband is waiting for results of tests for leukaemia

My husband is awaiting results of blood tests for Leukemia, and I am very scared about what this might mean to him, we still have 2 weeks before we see the consultant and in the meantime he is not feeling at all well, we do not know where to get help and advise.

  • Hello agandstella1964

I'm sorry to hear that your husband is waiting for test results for a possible diagnosis of leukaemia at the moment. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about what the results may mean for both of you.

Have you spoken with your husband's GP about how unwell he is feeling at the moment? Don't be afraid to give them a call if you have concerns about his immediate health. You can also call NHS 111 outside of normal GP practice hours.

If you'd like to talk things through with one of our nurses for some advice and support you can contact them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

I do hope that you have some answers soon.

    Best wishes,

  • Thank you so much for your reply, we are due to see the Doctor at the hospital on the 30 th Oct when we hopefully hear some news good or bad, it’s so comforting to know there are people we can talk to, mean while my husband is getting more and more tired and breathless, but he seems to think that we have to await the results of the blood tests they have done., before he can get help. Thank you again.
