I guess like most men, I don’t share my feelings with anyone, least of all my loved ones. I am recovering from bowel cancer and am having trouble controlling my bowel movements, and sex with my partner is becoming difficult.

Hi Joe
You really should share your feelings it will help both you and your loved ones. On the first round of cancer I went to all the appointments and scans on my own and told nobody to spare my family from upset and grief. It was not until I was due for surgery with several days in hospital that I told my OH, she was really upset I had not confided in her and it broke some trust in our relationship. Ive been very open this time round, she insists coming along to the many hospital visits and keeps my spirits up during the inevitable long waits.
Speaking to your partner about what you are going through will help them to help you get through your problems during this really difficult time.
