Newly diagnosed Stomach NET

Still somewhat in shock having been diagnosed recently after undergoing a multitude of tests including CT and MRI scans, gastrostomy and liver biopsy. Results show a gastric neuroendocrine tumour with metastases in the liver, so a double whammy!  Surgery isn't an option as I'm now a stage 4 so next week I'm due to start my first course of chemo and have mixed emotions about it - looking forward to a start to treatment at last but apprehensive at the same time.  Considering a cold cap and wonder it anyone has any experience they would like to share?

  • Hello Scarbzlady and welcome to Cancer Chat

I'm really sorry to hear about your stomach NET and that it has spread to your liver. This must be a lot to take in, especially after finding out that you can't have surgery, but I and the rest of the our online community will have our fingers crossed your chemo will successfully keep your cancer at bay.

We have some information about the cold cap on our website but hopefully some of our members who have opted for this will be along soon to share their experiences and advice. You may also be able to find some recent discussions about this on the forum when using the search bar at the top of this page.

I hope this helps but if you have any other questions or concerns, do give our cancer nurses a call. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all they can to support you at this time.

We're here for you Scarbzlady and wishing you all the best with the start of your chemo next week.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
