New to chat TNBC - when am I likely to start feeling the side effects of my chemo?

Hi

I started chemo today - 12 weeks of taxol/ carboplatin after lumpectomy 4 weeks ago.

Weird feeling as sitting here waiting for something to happen - I know everyone is different but when am I likely to feel side effects?

  • Hello KME2012

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I hope that your recovery after the recent lumpectomy surgery has gone smoothly.

How have you felt the last few days since starting your chemo treatment? As you say, everyone is different but hopefully any side effects that you've experienced have been manageable.

We do have some information about paclitaxel and carboplatin on our website which may help. Do remember that it's important to let your team know about any side effects that you experience. Early intervention can make things easier so don't be afraid to call them if you have any concerns.

If you want to chat things through with one of our nurses at any point you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

I wish you well with your treatment over the coming weeks. Do keep in touch and let us know how you're doing when you feel able to.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
