Endometrial cancer stage 3

Hi glad to join the community  I am just back from consultation, now 2 years clear so very happy   my consultant says another year and if everything is ok I dont need any more visits   how do you cope with not attending ct or consultant any more if I am lucky enough to stay cancer free for the ne t year.

  • Hello Hunter1

Welcome to the Cancer Chat forum. It's great to hear that you've just had another all-clear appointment with your Consultant and that if things continue in the same way the team are planning to discharge you next year.

It's understandable that the prospect of discharge may have left you feeling worried. When we start to look ahead into the future, the uncertainty and what-ifs can leave us feeling anxious. Hopefully, over the coming weeks and months, you can prepare yourself so that when you are discharged any anxiety is well managed.

I know that many of our members have found it helpful to talk through their concerns with someone. It may be that if this is something you think might be helpful you would like to chat with one of our nurses. I know they will be happy to offer any advice and reassurance they can to help you move forward. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040. Alternatively, there may be an organisation such as Maggie's in your local area where you can talk with one of their cancer support specialists.

I think many people here would agree that taking things a day at a time and not looking too far ahead into the future makes it easier to move forward and that with time any uncertainty you're feeling will fade into the background.

For now Hunter1, I hope that you've been able to celebrate your all-clear with loved ones and that you have lots of positive plans in place for the year ahead.

    Sending you my best wishes,
    Jenn
