Phesgo and Itchy Skin

Hello Everyone

This is the first time I have posted on this site.

I have Stage IV Secondary Breast Cancer and (having had 12 weeks of Paclitaxel chemotherapy) am having Phesgo targeted injections (Trastuzumab and Pertuzumab) every 3 weeks and Denosumab every 12 weeks.

The Phesgo targeted therapy is causing severe skin itchiness.  I tried some Fucibet cream which didn’t help and am now using an itch relief cream called Eurax, which is mildly soothing.

I wondered if anyone else has had the same problem and might have found a solution?

if so, I would love to hear about it!  Many thanks.

all the best.

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Viticella, although I'm sorry to hear about the itchy skin you're contending with as a result of the phesgo injections.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar position will share their tips and advice with you soon, but I do hope this information we have about dealing with itchiness will prove useful.

We have a team of cancer nurses available on 0808 800 4040 if you'd like to get their thoughts and advice on this as well. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all that they can to help.

We're thinking of you Viticella and hope this becomes more manageable soon.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Viticella, sorry to hear that the phesgo is causing you a problem. I have been on phesgo for a few months and get really itchy arms. My oncologist prescribed a cream called epimax and anti histamine tablets, which do seem to help. Luckily it's only my arms that are affected. Hope you manage to find something that helps. Xx

  • Thank you so much, Pippin24, strangely enough, just today my skin seems much calmer, but I have made a note of epimax cream and will ask my oncologist to consider it for me if it flares up again.  Thanks so much for the tip.
