Hi my journey so far with bladder cancer

Hi I was diagnosed with stage 2 low grade bladder cancer just over 2 and a half years ago. Since then have had flexi cystography's regularly every three months approx. All followed by a TURB a few weeks later. As well as recurring tumours in my bladder i have one stuck in between my right kidney and bladder tube.. This has proved to be difficult to remove so have been having it reduced when having the TURB's at the same time. All been successful programme till this year. Had my usual flexi c but had to postpone the usual TURB  as was not fully recovered from pneumonia. Had my TURB eventually in first week of July , by then the tumours had multiplied and had grown including the difficult one. Which had grown a lot so much that the surgeon said that he could only take very small piece other wise he would have created a hole. He and his boss told me the following morning that it would have to be discussed at the next meeting if I should have chemo or radio therapy. Went away to convalesce. Got an appointment for urology clinic for next flexi. But here is the strange thing which i am hoping somebody can explain. Ive just had a clinical letter out of the blue not mentioning last TURB at all but saying   there's no bladder cancer just inflamed bladder. Ive had no treatment since the last TURB. The clinical letter is written and signed on behalf of a colleague. Now is this a mistake with another patients result ?? or am I being fobbed of the list for treatment. I am left wondering has anybody else had this ? and what should I ,can I do??

  • Definately query it, may well be a mistake.  Unfortunately admin mistakes do happen.  Have you got a telephone number for your specialist nurse that you can ring next week?  I have always found them a good point of contact, if they dont know the answer they can usually tell you who you need to speak to.

Hope that you get some clarification soon, you dont need that confusion on top of everything else!
