Hi Tucan, sorry to hear of your diagnosis of breat cancer. I too was diagnosed in January and finished chemo in July. I am 61 and due to have a mastectomy with diep flap reconstruction, in the beginning of October. I decided I would rather use my own tissue, than have an implant, especially as I may need radiotherapy afterwards. As far as I know  radiotherapy can affect implants. I was also told that after time the healthy breast could look more droopy than the implant, o would look more natural if own tissue is used. The operation is a long one, but for me the long-term results are worth it. Good luck with everything moving forward. Xx
