Hi: I have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer

I have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I have had 2 operations to try and remove the cancer however it is inoperable. I have just completing my first round of chemo and trying to stay positive. .

  • Hello Jo-T

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It sounds like you've been through quite a journey already with two surgeries and now being told that it's inoperable. I hope that you have had lots of support from family, friends and the medical team.

I know that we have members here who will understand and agree that trying to approach your treatment, and diagnosis, with a positive mindset can be hugely beneficial. But I will also say that it's OK to have days when you may not feel quite so positive about things. On those days do reach out for support from people you know can help.

If you want to talk things through with one of our nurses at any point you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. You might also want to have a look at the Target Ovarian Cancer website.

I hope that the rest of your chemotherapy treatments progress smoothly. Keep in touch Jo-T and let us know how you're doing. We're here to listen and offer any support we can.

    Best wishes,
