colorectal cancer - would my age stop me from having surgery?

I am a76 year lady who has just been diagnosed  with colorectal cancer and have a colovaginal  fistula had an MRI scan and will get a CT scam later this week. Have an appointment to see a surgeon at end of month and was wondering if my age and small build would stop any surgery taking place.

    Unfortunately I can't answer the question you've asked in your post but we have a very knowledgeable team of cancer nurses that may be able to help so if you'd like to talk things through with them, you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very easy to talk to and they will do all they can to give you the information you're seeking and help you prepare for what may lie ahead.
