Worried about secondaries from breast cancer

Hi all, I'm new to the forum, my name's Al, I'm  49 & discovered a lump in March. I'm waiting for radiotherapy following lumpectomy in June. Before my diagnosis I had a problem with my shoulder - the opposite shoulder to my breast cancer. I had been seeing an osteopath but I hadn't seen much improvement which is odd because she usually fixes all of my musculoskeletal problems. Since my surgery the shoulder has got worse. My consultant doesn't seem interested in it and said I don't need a scan but I'm so concerned about it I don't know what to do. Has anyone else been in this position? Thanks in advance Al

  • Hello Spoon100

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently been through treatment for breast cancer. It's natural for people who have had a cancer diagnosis to be concerned that other health issues may be connected.

It's good to hear that your breast consultant doesn't have any initial concerns but clearly, this issue is causing you pain and anxiety so it would be a good idea to talk with your GP who can arrange any appropriate investigations.

If you'd like to chat with one of our nurses for some advice and support you can call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

I hope things improve for you soon.

    Best wishes,
