I'm sorry to hear that your sister has been told that she has stage 4 breast cancer. It's obviously a very difficult time for you all and understandable that there are concerns about how the recommended treatment will progress. Hopefully, she will tolerate the sessions well and the team will be able to give her, and you all, some reassurance at her next review. 

We know that for many people supporting a loved one through cancer can be a difficult and emotional time. it sounds as if you are a close-knit family and hopefully, you will all be able to rally around your sister, and each other, to provide the support that everyone needs. 

If it would help to talk things through with one of our nurses at any point, you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice and support they can.

On the 8th of August my sister had her first chemotherapy treatment. That evening I cut her hair, as she wanted to donate it to charity. On the 27th she asked me to shave her hair, as it was coming t in clumps, just before the second chemotherapy due on the 29th. It has been very hard for her 2 daughters and 3 grandsons, to see her this way  as well as us her siblings  I know it's going to get tougher as the treatment goes on, and I'm struggling with my job, I've stepped down in my team leaders role, to another job. As I found I couldn't fully concentrate. Now I feel I need to leave, to be with my sister, and her daughters to give my full support.
