Newly diagnosed and today is my operation day

Hi guys, just wanted to say hello and tell you guys what’s going on.  I turned 50 in February and On the 20th June I went for my mammogram screening. I was called back 2 weeks later and was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. It’s been a whirlwind since and I am having my operation today to take it out. I am a district nurse and have to say as I know a bit more when caring for my patients with cancer I put on a brave face. I am worried about today and what the future holds. I also want to say thank god for the NHS screening and all the amazing people that are looking after me

  • It’s on my chest and neck and looks like severe sun burn my initial thought was the titanium clips but the breast care nurse said it’s more likely the antiseptic scrub they use before surgery just at my gp as the antihistamine I’m taking is not working and neither are the cold compresses. My skin is on fire and I want to scratch it off
