Hello - undergoing HIPEC

Hi, my name is Claire. I have been living with the remains of a brain tumour since Feb 2016, but it has been stable since then.   Last year I was diagnosed with a rare form of appendiceal cancer (adenocarcinoma) -  I had surgery/HIPEC (Heated Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy) for this last year & am now waiting for second surgery/ HIPEC as it has reappeared in my liver .  I'm really looking forward to being part of this group ️

  • Hello Claire

Welcome to the forum although I'm sorry to hear about the diagnoses that have led you to find us. It sounds like it's been a rollercoaster over the past few years with all that you've been through and now that you're facing a second HIPEC treatment it's good that you've reached out for some support.

I know that we've previously had members post to share their experiences and ask questions about HIPEC. You can read some of those posts by using the forum search function at the top of the page to look for the term HIPEC. We've also had a few people post who have had a diagnosis of appendiceal cancer. Hopefully, you can connect with some of these members perhaps by commenting on one of their posts.

If you'd like to talk things through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information, and support they can.

I hope that you don't have to wait too long for your planned treatment and that things progress smoothly. Keep in touch Claire and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
