New to forum

I am a 72 year old widower whose wife died from AML (Acute Myeloid Leukaemia) in 1998 aged 44.

Strike 1 I was diagnosed with CLL (Chronic Lymphatic Leukaemia) just before Covid and was on the watch & wait system.

Strike 2 more recently I was also diagnosed with a malignant melanoma on my temple and cheek which is due for plastic surgery early August.

Strike 3 It started with a dental abscess and loss of a tooth but after 2 months of antibiotics it still persisted. A biopsy revealed that it was in fact NHL (non Hodgkin Lymphoma)

I started treatment 3 days ago (R-Chop) which was supposed to be administered over a 6hr period but ended up being admitted into hospital for 3 days after I had an allergic reaction to the medication.

  • Thanks for the welcome Steph.

Sometimes it feels like they are doing their best to keep me occupied. I’m being treated at the Hospital and can’t fault their efforts but all the different appointments in different hospitals is starting to drain what little energy I have. Dental appointments at Ipswich, PetScan at Addenbrookes and blood test after blood test wherever I can fit one in. Cardiac test, chest xray and a plethora of other tests are taking its toll.

i hope that when/if the treatment starts to work things will calm down.
