Pinkstars - cancerous growth removed from colon

Hello, I’ve recently received the news that the growth removed from my colon in the middle of May was cancerous. The consultant said we’d caught it early and was very positive. Had a CT scan last Wednesday, I should get the results within two weeks. Keeping myself busy, eating a healthy diet (which I do anyway!) Only my close family know, and a few people at work, I haven’t told my parents. All I can do is hope for the best, as it’s out of my hands.

  • Hello Pinkstars

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently been diagnosed with colon cancer. It's naturally a worrying time for you but it sounds like you are trying to approach this news with a positive attitude and this will certainly help you with whatever treatment is recommended.

I hope that you're being well supported by your family and colleagues. If it would help to talk things through with one of our nurses at any point you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to offer any advice and support they can.

I also wanted to tag in another new forum member  who shared in their post that they have recently been diagnosed with colon cancer. We do have a number of members posting at the moment who are going through treatment for bowel/colon cancer so hopefully you will be able to connect with some of them to help support each other.

I hope that your scan results bring good news Pinkstars. do keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
