Bowel cancer - can chemo cause feeling of thick headedness?

Just new to forum,on chemo tablets do you feel thick headed on a morning.Trying to navigate symptoms.

  • Good morning Janebo

I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling with some thick-headedness as you've described it. It sounds like this might be something that is commonly called chemobrain and although originally it was thought that the symptoms people were experiencing were due to the medication, researchers now believe that the symptoms are related to more aspects of the diagnosis.

We have some information on our website about chemo brain that hopefully will offer you some insight, advice, and reassurance. However, if you're still struggling or worried then please do talk to your clinical nurse specialist, or alternatively, you can call our nurses to talk things through with them. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

I do hope that things settle and improve for you soon.

    Best wishes,
