Breast cancer

Hi everyone

In the last 6 weeks, I’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer, had the lump and nodes removed (it was in 1 node).  Diagnosed as Stage 2 Grade 3.  Been told I’ve to receive chemotherapy as the Oncotype DX test showed the tumour to have a score of 48 (ranges from 0-100).

I’m a bit anxious awaiting to hear my treatment plan (I’ll find out next week). Although my mum had cancer several times, she never received chemotherapy.

Basically, I’m just looking for some advice (I know I’ll get advice at my appointment next week) both in preparation, during and after chemotherapy.

Thanks x

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Paula although I'm sorry to hear you were recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

We do have some information about chemotherapy for breast cancer on our website but hopefully some of our members who have had chemo will be along soon to share their experiences and advice.

We also have a team of cancer nurses you can discuss this with on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all they can to answer your questions and help you prepare for what's to come.

Do keep posting if you find it helps Paula as our community are here for you and will do all they can to support you on this journey.

    Kind regards,
