  • Hello sjd2000,

I am so sorry to hear about your dad's diagnosis and that he has cancer in his stomach, liver and throat. How did it go for him to have the Picc fitted? I hope that he is doing ok and feels ready for the chemotherapy treatment on Friday. It's normal to be worried and I thought I would share with you our general information on chemotherapy to help him prepare for treatment. It must be hard to see him lose so much weight and to see that he isn't eating very much and is feeling sick.

It's so nice of you to want to bring him home with you after chemo so you can look after him. I am sure he will really appreciate the offer especially as he lives alone as the after effects of treatment can be a bit harsh just after and it's always nice to have someone to make even a cup of tea after going through chemotherapy.

If you have any questions, feel free to give our cancer nurses a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and they will be happy to answer questions you may have.

I hope that you will hear from others who have been in a similar place before and that they will be along shortly to share their story with you.

Wishing your dad the best of luck for the start of his treatment.

    Best wishes,
