  • Hello Naz7672

I'm sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis of throat cancer. It's understandable that you're feeling scared and anxious about how things will pan out over the next few weeks and months.

We have quite a number of members who have been through treatment for head and neck cancers and I'd suggest having a look at this thread and maybe posting to introduce yourself. I'm sure that you will be able to chat with others who can share their experiences there. I'm also going to give you this link to a blog written by one of the forum members Hazel aka Radioactiveraz which I know other members have commented on to say how helpful it was with shared information about treatment.

It's natural that you're concerned about work and finances. Many people with cancer share these worries. I'd recommend getting in touch with Macmillan. They have a specialised benefits and financial support team as well as a work support service. I know that they will be able to give you some advice and information that will hopefully offer you some reassurance as you move forward.

It's good to hear that you have your daughter living with you. I hope that you have other family and friends around you who may be able to offer some support over the coming months. Here at Cancer Research UK, we have a team of nurses that you can call for advice and information if you feel it would be helpful at any point. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any support they can.

Keep in touch with us Naz7672. We're here to listen and will do our best to help you through this.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
