Small bowel

Hi there I'm looking for some advice,I've to see a colorectal surgeon,I have tumour on small bowel, had a MRI in March but not for the bowel, but this was picked up on it,I received an email from my Professor about his findings,my GP has referred me to the hospital to see the surgeon,I'm wondering how long this appointment may take to be seen,I'm not sure what to do or even ask about it,it's really stunned me,just looking for some advice about it thank you

  • Hi Rocky64,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand this is a lot to take in and I'm sure the uncertainty must be difficult to deal with.

Usually you should be given an idea of how long to expect to wait for the referral appointment - it sounds like in this case you weren't told what to potentially expect. You can always give your doctor a call to ask this, as it's important that you have an idea of roughly how long you should be waiting for.

    Wishing you all the best,
