Introducing myself - diagnosed with tissue cancer in womb

Hi everyone,

I recently was diagnosed with a tissue cancer in my womb. I have had an mri scan and am now waiting for a ct scan before being told what my treatment will be. I think it will be a hysterectomy and chemotherapy but I am not sure yet. Not really sure what else to write

  • A very warm welcome to the forum Gunner71 although I'm sorry to hear you have been diagnosed with womb cancer.

Hopefully some of our members will be along soon to say hello and share their stories with you, but if you have any questions or concerns about what's to come, don't hesitate to give our team of cancer nurses a call on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they'll do all they can to support you and give you any information or advice you may be seeking at this time.

I hope you won't have to wait too long for your CT scan and that you'll have a treatment plan in place soon.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Gunner, I too was diagnosed with womb cancer. I am now home 4 days on from a total abdominal hysterectomy plus an oophrectomy and lymph node removal. Won't know for a couple of weeks if there will be further treatment. I just want to tell you that the hysterectomy and recovery, so far, are nowhere near as bad as I had imagined. The waiting is always so difficult as I guess almost everyone thinks the worst. Just hang in there and try to keep on an even keel. Wishing you all the best.

  • Hi, thank.you for your reply. I had my ct scan today so fingers crossed they get the results in time for the next multidisciplinary meeting on Wednesday. Hopefully I will know then what is next. Looks like I will have what you have had, but not sure yet. The results of the MRI were positive thank God after nearly 3 weeks of worry. It will be lovely to hear how you get on and hopefully I will be just a few weeks behind you in my progress.

Wishing you all the best too
