Hi - nervously waiting for biopsy results to confirm if I have essential thrombocythaemia

Hi, I’m Karen. I’m currently waiting for bone marrow biopsy results to confirm essential thrombocythemia. It’s been 4 weeks already and I’m due a phone all with haematology on Tuesday, although my bmb was sent to xxx, it may be an even longer wait. Platelets have been gradually increasing for 18 months but JAK2 is negative. I’m struggling to sleep and am very grumpy! Isn’t the wait for results awful.

    I'm so sorry you've had to wait so long for your results but I really do hope your phone call with the haematology department has gone well today and that you were able to finally get some answers.
