hi i am jax - seeking skin care advice after starting chemotherapy

i have joined the forum tody as i will probably have loads of questions and don't want to keep pugging the communityn nurses.  I was told i had stage 4 cancer within the last 6 weeks so a wee bit of a shock.  I understand that now i have started chemo i should be careful what i use on my skin, can anyone advise what is good and what is not.  I understand frangrance free.

  • Hello jaxlek, so sorry to hear of your diagnosis, and yes, it is a quite a shock isn't it?  When I was going through chemo, I didn't use any of the 'normal' face cremes.  I used virgin olive oil.  That probably sounds a bit strange, but it does wonders for the complexion.  Also, you will find that your scalp will feel a bit delicate after the hair loss from chemo, so I used to buy 'Child's Farm Shampoo' from Amazon, which has no perfume in it at all and is very good for a sensitive scalp. Good luck, xx
