Hello - My name is Keith. I am 66 a year old male.
I am having a very anxious time this weekend waiting for a scan.
I have felt some changes this past few weeks and the doctor sent me to xray for my chest and lungs. This came back all clear and no concerns.
I went back to doctor as I felt I was getting worse, more breathless, a little blood in sputum, and coughing from deeper down. My doctor gave me urgent referral to the 2 week rule.
I received a CT Scan 5 days later, then unexpectedly a Gallium Doctate Pet/CT scan a week later. Strangely I also got an appointment before the scan for a visit to the lung respiratory clinic for 3 days after the pet scan.
I am now fearing the worst, seems strange to have that appointment booked before the Pet/CT scan.
The hardest part is sitting here all alone with no one for support!
My scan is on Monday and the follow up at respiratory 3 days later, makes me think that cancer is already known and they are looking to see if it has spread or not. The scan is for NET'S.
As I say sitting here waiting all alone is very hard, not knowing how it all works etc.
