Galleri Trial NHS , Cancer research.

Hello my first time posting & my heart goes out to all that are worried or recieving Treatment . I have recently did a Blood test for Galleri Trial ... On Wed this week l had a phone call saying a Cancer Signal had been detected...but it does not mean l definitely have Cancer, but it does mean l have to have further Tests on my Lungs , colon & Rectum .

Like you all,   l was totally devastated with worry .

I am waiting now for an appointment at the hospital. 

I wondered if anyone else has done this Trail & had the same results.

    Hello Soda6, 

    A warm welcome to our forum. I can imagine this phone call worried you a lot but as you know and as you can read in our information on the Galleri blood test "if your result shows a cancer signal, this does not mean that you definitely have cancer." It is stressful though to be told that you need to have further tests on your lung, colon & rectum and I hope that you won't have to wait too long for your appointment and for results. 

    I hope that you will hear from others on the forum who have taken part in this trial before and that they will share their experience with you. In the meantime, if you wanted to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses, feel free to give them a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. They will be happy to answer questions you might have about the Galleri trial. I am keeping everything crossed for you that you won't have to wait long to have your tests done and that it all turns out to be fine.

    What an anxious time it must be for you and this long wait for answers can be the hardest thing. I thought I would share with you our helpful tips to help you cope while waiting for important news.

    Thank you so much for reply .

    I started these Grail Trials to help to Detect Cancer ,  so you can imagine when l was just about to go into School to work when l got the call saying Cancer Detection had been detected. 

     I was all over the place, shock was not even close to how l felt. I was sent home , l am so frightened & scared like  people who get told they have cancer everyday .

    My first thoughts was how am l going to tell my son l am going to die, l know that might sound dramatic,  but l really thought that was it or could be going that way  .

    I am so grateful that my Blood Test has shown up Cancer Detection & have been informed as l have had no Symptoms of anything , l wouldn't of known that's what's so frightening aswell .

    I am waiting to hear now for Tests off the QE .
