Hi, I am new to this site. We found out yesterday that my husband may have bowel cancer. Devastated is a word I would use to describe how we are feeling.
Hi, I am new to this site. We found out yesterday that my husband may have bowel cancer. Devastated is a word I would use to describe how we are feeling.
So sorry about your bad news, I hope your husband responds to treatment. Take care Hugs Susan
Thank you so much Susan. As of yet we have no idea what it is, or if it has spread. CT scan today will tell us this. I'm trying to keep positive but it has floored us both. Hugs back Ali
My husband went for his CT scan on Friday. His results have just come back. Thankfully the cancer has not spread, we are over the moon, and I know that sounds a strange thing to say but at least now we know for sure what we are dealing with.
The doctors are having a meeting on Friday to discuss were we go from here, possibly surgery
I am so pleased for you both. Poistive thinking . Susan
Thank you for your kind words Susan. Definitely positive thinking x
Hi
i know your post is 3 months old, but I don’t pop on here so much anymore. I just want to give you our experience.
My husband had a positive screening qFit - a Colonoscopy revealed a cancerous tumour in his bowel. No signs, no symptoms, came right out of the blue and knocked us for six! Anyway, sox weeks of scans, bloods, examinations, one big operation, a hellish wait for results and all clear! No spread, clear margins, no chemo or radiotherapy. Just 3 years of regular scans, CT’s, bloods, colonoscopies etc.
My point is - when caught early bowel cancer is not only treatable, but possibly curable! You’re in great hands - the NHS really kicks into gear and is phenomenal. Sometimes the last 18 months feels like someone else’s life and I truly hope and pray that it will be the same for you! Just take it one step at a time. Xx
