Gynaecology cancer markers

My hrt nurse has tried to refer me back to Gynecologist for 12-mths random bleeds pelvic pain constantly spotting.

I started to lose a lot of weight sent to Gynecologist on the 2ww

Had ultrasound hysterectomy biopsys yesterday.

I had a large dark shadow left side that the Gynecologist said didn't know what it was there was tumours black on left side also. Cervix closed.

I was in so much pain with biopsy-

I was told I was getting a mri scan in 2/3 wks however had a phone call this morning to go in tomorrow- this is now starting to overwhelm me.

I'm not sure I understand what shadow on scan indicate.

Anyone had anything similar

Thank you

  • Hello Tania-uk

I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with some ongoing health concerns recently and that following an appointment with the specialist you're now undergoing some further tests. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about things.

It sounds like the team is trying to get through your tests as soon as they are able too and this will mean that hopefully you won't have to wait too long for answers and information about the diagnosis and recommended next steps.

We know that for many people this period of waiting can be very difficult. The uncertainty can leave you feeling anxious and worried which in turn can leave you feeling more unwell. Often it can help to talk with someone about how you're feeling and I wonder if you might find it useful to chat with one of our nurses. I know they will be happy to offer any advice, information, and support they can ahead of your next appointment as well as help you think about any question that you may want to ask the specialist. If you'd like to talk with them they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

In the meantime, we have some advice and tips about waiting for news that you may find useful over the coming days.

Keep in touch Tania and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
