Just Diagnosed

Hi Everyone, I’ve just been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma in my neck. I’m told the tumour is secondary and the search is on to find the primary site. Due a PET scan soon and a robotic tongue mucosectomy - which I’m terrified of.

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Rich, although I'm sorry to hear about the squamous cell carcinoma in your neck, and that the primary cancer is yet to be found.

I know this must be very scary, but I'm glad you've reached out to us as our community is filled with members who will know what you are feeling and going through right now, so you are not alone, and I'm sure it won't be long until you receive some support and advice.

If you have any further questions about your diagnosis, or feel it may help to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses, they'll be available from Tuesday onwards on 0808 800 4040, between 9a.m - 5p.m.

We are here for you Rich and wishing you all the best with your upcoming PET scan and robotic tongue mucosectomy.

    Kind regards,
