Neuroendocrine liver metastases

Hi guys,

I was recently diagnosed with NETs and have just had 2nd PRRT treatment.

I feel absolutely rotten after the treatment and have not really been able to leave my flat or sofa for the last 7 days.

The flushing and fatigue are particularly bad and I feel very miserable and down.

I am normally a very independent person and find it very frustrating not being able to do much and rely on other people.

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same.

Thank you

Ruthy

  • Hello Ruthy,

I am so sorry to hear that the PRRT treatment has really taken it out of you. As mentioned in the information on our website on PRRT, "treatment for neuroendocrine tumours can be difficult to cope with for some people and your nurse will give you phone numbers to call if you have any problems at home" so don't hesitate to get in touch with your medical team and letting them know how you have been feeling for the last 7 days and I am sure they will have some good suggestions to help you feel better. You should definitely not suffer alone.

f you have any questions about your treatment, you can talk to our cancer nurses on freephone 0808 800 4040, 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday so don't hesitate to give them a call (but the helpline will be closed this bank holiday Monday).

I thought I would also mention this thread 'PRRT for 80'  by  - this member was also diagnosed with a NET with mets to the liver and posted recently on our forum so might be a good person for you to connect with here. Have a look too at  's neuroendocrine cancer thread and  's replies too and don't hesitate to reply if you feel like sharing your own experience with them.

I really hope things improve for you soon and that you will get talking here with others who've bene through something similar.

    Best wishes,
