What happens now?

My partner has advanced cancer and is receiving palliative care. His chemo has shrank the tumour and the spots on his liver.

He has had a pic line in both arms, due to complications his line has been removed. He is now having a port tha in his chest. So he is missing a month and half of his chemo. Will his cancer grow in that time? Of would the chemo have killed it?

Thanks in advance

  • A very warm welcome to the Cancer Chat forum Cocko although I'm sorry to hear your partner is receiving palliative care for their advanced cancer. This must be a very difficult time for you both.

Unfortunately I'm unable to answer the questions in your post but we have a very knowledgeable team of cancer nurses who may be able to help so if you'd like to get their thoughts on this, and discuss anything else you have on your mind at the moment, do give them a call on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all that they can to help.

I hope it won't be long until you receive some support and advice from our members who have been in a similar position with their loved ones, but in the meantime, we're thinking of you Cocko and wishing your partner all the best with their port being fitted.

    Kind regards,
