T2N0M0 Bladder Cancer

Diagnosed with bladder cancer in early March. Cancer removed with TURB mid March. Biopsy results show invasive muscle. CT scan shows no spread. Starting 4 cycles of Chemo next week and it appears that at the end of treatment I may have to choose either removal of bladder or radiotherapy. I am 71, male, fit and not overweight or any heart problems. Trying to get some statistical info on survival times of each treatment. Any ideas would be most appreciated

Richard

  • Hello Richard

I'm sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis. I hope that you've recovered well since the procedure in March and that despite the biopsy results showing an invasive muscle cancer you're reassured by the CT scan results.

It's understandable that you may have questions about the next stages of your treatment. We do have some information about bladder cancer on our website that you may find helpful along with some bladder cancer statistics as well.

I'd also suggest giving our team of nurses a call to talk through some of your questions about statistics relating to the survival times of each treatment. I'm sure they will be happy to help with any information and support they can. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Do talk with your clinical nurse specialist and Consultant about your questions as well as they will have the full overview of your diagnosis.

However your treatment plan progresses Richard, I wish you well with this next stage and hope that the chemotherapy goes smoothly.

Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
