Chemotherapy Temozolomide.

Morning, I am new to this group. I have have been battling ependymoma for 9 years. I have just started on chemotherapy, Temozolomide.

I have some questions. I am in a 28 day cycle, 5 days of tablets, 23 days of rest.

What day are my most vulnerable days.

What is the best way to shave my leg hair? I need to shave my legs, but I don't want to risk cutting myself. I have some veet, but I read the chemicals could mix with the chemotherapy drugs?

Thank you in advance.

Jade.

  • Hi J.Newton,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I hope you are getting on OK and I hope that this forum can be of some support to you.

To reduce the risk of cutting and to take away risks or concerns about ingredients in the product, using an electric razor may help to avoid injuring the skin.

However to be honest I am not best placed to advise on this, and you may find it useful to speak to one of our nurses. If you'd like to do this, you can either post in the 'Ask the Nurses' section of this forum, or you can give them a call on freephone 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

Otherwise if others here have any advice to offer then hopefully they'll see your post and you'll get some more replies soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
