Nervous before results clinic appointment tomorrow

Hi

I had a breast cancer operation a couple of weeks ago and I’m feeling a bit anxious about my results clinic appointment tomorrow. I know from my breast cancer nurse that I might need another operation or I might be OK to go to radiotherapy next. I feel really sore and I’m really hoping for radiotherapy, instead of another operation.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation and what did you do to prepare yourself for news of the next step?

  • Hello JSatves

I noticed that you were due to attend a breast clinic appointment yesterday to receive some results. How did you get on?

I hope that the team was able to give you some reassurance. If there's anything you want to talk through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Do let us know how you got on when you're able to.

    Best wishes,

  • Hello Jenn

Thank you for leaving me a message. By the time I needed to go for my appointment yesterday I was feeling more relaxed. After my results I knew, I needed another operation that will be a smaller one the last one. So … that’s good . Today I’m feeling more positive than I thought I would.

Thanks to everyone on cancer chat and at cancer research UK …. you’ll all amazing

  • Hello Jstaves

I'm sorry to hear that you need another small surgery but it's great to hear that you're feeling less anxious and in a good frame of mind this morning. Being positive isn't always easy but it certainly helps to make the journey easier to travel!

Sending you my best wishes for this next step in your treatment plan.
