Legal recourse for missed diagnoses?

Hi everyone,

I’m not sure where to post this so I apologise if it’s the wrong section.

Both my parents died recently from stage 4 cancers, both of which were misdiagnosed for years. Years and numerous GPS, specialists and consultants telling us it absolutely wasn’t cancer, despite my arguments to the contrary. My parents had blind faith in the medical professionals, but having been unbelievably unlucky with them myself I’ve become far more skeptical. I tried to talk to these medical professionals myself, but every time I was shut down and belittled. So, by the time my dad and then my mum received the correct diagnoses it was obviously too late. They died months later.

I was wondering if anyone here has dealt with a similar situation and sought legal recourse, especially pro bono?

Thanks in advance, and love to all.

  • Hello Sohereiam,

I am so sorry that both your parents died recently from stage 4 cancers and that they were misdiagnosed for years. I can totally understand why you are feeling so upset by it all and that this has made you sceptical especially if you felt you were belittled or shut down.

Our website has information on how to complain about healthcare services  if you feel things went wrong which includes advice on making a formal complaint and taking legal action.

I hope this helps a little and that you will hear from the experiences of others who have been in a similar situation.

    Best wishes,
