After having soft cell sarcoma 20 years ago, I've now been diagnosed with Womb Cancer. I'm so scared

I was diagnosed with stage 1b womb cancer last week and I am due to have a full hysterectomy next week. The CT scan showed a 17mm legion for which I now have a breast screening/biopsy. I’m so scared. I suffered a soft cell sarcoma 20 years ago and I feel as though cancer is constantly hanging over me like a cloud. I don’t want to resort to medical support for my anxiety - interested to chat with anyone with similar worries and how they’re managing.

  • A very warm welcome to the Cancer Chat community Jules_T although I'm sorry to hear you've been diagnosed with womb cancer.

Hopefully some of our members who have been on this journey will be along soon to offer you their support and share their experiences and advice but if you'd like to talk any of this through with one of our cancer nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very insightful and will do all they can to address your worries and concerns and answer any other questions you may have at this time.

Waiting for surgery and appointments is very tough, and as you've mentioned in your post can bring about a lot of anxiety, but I hope some of the tips and advice given on the NHS website for managing anxiety will help you whilst you wait.

We're thinking of you Jules and wishing you all the best with your hysterectomy next week.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
