Abdominal pain for 6 months, no bleed, no polyp…..

So I’ve been suffering with abdominal pain which has been from extreme intense period type pain that has floored me to now constant  mild - moderate period type pains with no bleed. I’ve been on the mini pill for 10 years. I had a camera done today under general as T.v ultrasound ‘detected’ a polyp top of womb. Found out that there’s no polyp and all looks healthy with ovaries etc. so, why am I having these abdominal pains? I don’t have kidney stones, I don’t have any infections. My liver is healthy. I’ve just turned 50 years old am wondering will I just be left to put up with it if my biopsy comes back normal?

  • Hello Mum50,

Pains can occur for all sorts of reasons so it's normal for more tests to be needed. When youre worried that you may have cancer, it can be natural to think the worst, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better. You won't be able to know more until you get your results then you can discuss possible next steps. Waiting for news can be an anxious time and this SAGA article has some useful tips on waiting for news.

    Best wishes,
