Nasopharyngeal cancer

I found out on 1st of March 2024 about this Nasopharyngeal cancer stage 2-3 , I had no clue that something like that existing.

I am 50 years old, I am very scared and I am waiting to start my treatment in the next 2 weeks.

I have got my treatment plan which involves chemotherapy for the first 9 weeks and radiotherapy + different type of chemotherapy for the next 7 weeks.

Its there anyone else having the same situation like mine? It will be great to be able to share.

  • Hi Jen,

Sorry for my late answer, I didn't have any symptoms at all, just got a very bad gland infection and I was in the hospital for 2 weeks and in this time they found out the tumour I had behind my nose, and after the biopsy they confirmed .

I finished all my treatment on 2nd of August last year(2024).

The chemotherapy ( I had 8 sessions)  wasn't that bad, the worse one was the radiotherapy (35 sessions) I had a feeding tube thro my nose and I couldn't put anything in my mouth for 4 months. I had around 800 fortisip in about 5 months . I am still on recovery stage. When I started to eat thro my mouth I used to have soups, poot noodles and very soft food, now its still hard but  I try every day to bring a little bit of solid food in my meals, just like a baby :).

The PET scan I had on December 2024 showed all clean the treatments worked.

Now I have appointments every 6 weeks and big scans every 6 months.

I hope you are well and gone thru all these successfully.

I wish you all the best.

    Claudia
