WOMB CANCER STAGE 1

Hi,

I have been diagnosed with womb cancer, and on HRT at the moment, which so far has not been successful. The team are pushing me to do surgery and I am highly reluctant to do it as I am 34 and have not had my family yet. Are there any women in the same situation or have had surgery, not wanted to do it? So I can get more understanding on the experience. I am petrified of doing it, and think it will trigger me into a state of depression. Any help, information or stories would really help on the entire experience.

Thank you,

  • Hello ana.ss,

Welcome to Cancer Chat and I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. While surgery is a common way of addressing the cancer, please know that no one is forcing you to do anything. It's important to talk about how you're feeling to your doctor so they can understand where you're coming from and possible next steps. Discussing your feelings with those close to you, if you haven't already, will also help you to make a decision. The forum is here for you and I hope members who have been in a similar position can reach out to you. We also have information on womb cancer on our website.

    Best wishes,
