Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm so sorry to hear this - this sounds incredibly difficult. It's difficult to know why he may have decided this - sometimes people going through this can push away loved ones, which may perhaps be a conscious or unconscious effort to protect them, even though it can feel unkind or confusing to those around them.

I'm not sure of your situation exactly, but it may be that he needs a little space, however hopefully you are still able to be in touch with him and to be there to support him as much as you are able to and that he accepts.

It's important that you get some support too, so do keep speaking to others around you where possible. We are always here on the forum if ever you need it, and I hope that it can be of some help to you.
