Brain tumor bowel cancer

Hi I'm 49 and have just been diagnosed with bowel cancer, my husband who is 66 was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor last October. I'm extremely worried about what the future holds I'm not sure what stage bowel cancer is at but would appreciate a heads up on what kind of treatment to expect thanks in advance for any replies

  • Welcome to the forum, Hollybobs.

I'm sorry to read about your recent diagnosis of bowel cancer, especially considering the difficult circumstances with your husband's health. It's completely understandable to feel worried about what the future holds.

The treatment for bowel cancer can vary depending on factors such as the stage of the cancer, its location, and your overall health. Typically, treatment options may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or a combination of these approaches. It's essential to discuss your specific case and treatment plan with your medical team, as they can provide personalised guidance based on your individual circumstances.

While facing cancer can be overwhelming, it's important to remember that you're not alone, we have many others here who'll undestand how you're feeling and I hope some of them will be here shortly to give and advice and offer support.

The other thing I wanted to mention is that we have a lovely team of nurses if at some point you want to give them a call to talk things over. They're available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on this phone number 0808 800 4040.

With best wishes to you and your husband,
