My doctor suspects thyroid cancer and has referred me to the ENT department. What should I expect from my first appointment? Will they do an ultrasound while I'm there?

Welcome to the Cancer Chat, Ss1.
I'm sorry to read that your doctors suspected that you may have thyroid cancer but I'm glad they're referring you to the ENT department for further investigation.
During your first visit, the specialist will probably review your medical history, discuss your symptoms, and may perform a physical examination. Whether an ultrasound will be done during this appointment or scheduled for later depends on your doctor's recommendation and availability.
Remember to communicate openly with your doctor and ask any questions you may have, having a list of questions prior your appointment might help, too.
Once you know more, please come back and give us an update if you find a moment, we're keeping our fingers crossed for you.
All the best,
